Many departments tout red light cameras for their ability
to free up officers to spend more time concentrating on
more deserving law enforcement concerns. However, the truth
is quite the opposite.
Red light cameras are capable of generating a great number
of tickets each day. The law requires that tickets be sent
out within 30 days of a violation. These systems require an
officer to sit in a cubicle reviewing recorded violations.
